About This Website

Updated October 2, 2010

Welcome to this Canadian Scouting & Young Men resource website. This site has been developed as a resource for all LDS scout section leaders and parents, however many non-LDS Groups are taking advantage of the resources found on this website. I welcome all Canadian Scout Groups and hope that you find the resources helpful in your program planning! In fact, the resources on this website are becoming a “Scouting Community” effort as my time is limited to check the accuracy of calendar items and form updates. Many of you are sending in additional program activities that you have found successful and I have added these to our resource calendars. You have also found errors on the website, or advised me of form updates, and I have tried to make these changes as quickly as possible. Thank you to everyone for taking the time to help make this site beneficial for those who visit!

This website provides comprehensive rotating calendars and activities for each section in order to meet all the requirements for youth to earn their Six Star Cub, Chief Scout, and Queens Venturer Awards. We have also provided a comprehensive calendar for the Duty to God program (the Duty to God calendar has NOT been updated to reflect the New Duty to God program - this is currently being updated.)

Although the content of this site was originally designed for activities and events specific to the Abbotsford Stake, the overwhelming requests from other Wards and Stakes within Canada who are using this website has resulted in some changes.  The Scouting Calendars no longer show weekly dates but space is provided for individual sections to insert a date specific to their program. There are approximately 43 weeks of activities each calendar year. Each calendar has a heading indicating the scouting year in which the weekly activities should take place. It is suggested that at the beginning of each year section leaders - in consultation with youth leaders - should review the weekly activities and insert specific dates on which these activities will take place. The easiest way to accomplish this is to cut and past the contents of the calendar into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. Once in a spreadsheet you can make changes as needed – and if working off a computer – you will have active links that will take you to the weekly schedule and activity details. Note that some weeks are "Activity of Choice" to allow time for other events or holidays.

I hope this site helps as you plan FUN events for your Scouting program!
